Planned On Hand Calendar
The Planned On Hand calendar was designed for companies that will schedule Jobs and Sales Orders hourly and need to queue incoming orders prior to assigning them to the Planned On Hand calendar based on shipping availability (using Docks) and Work Center capacity. This calendar is only available when using the web based version of Deacom. This calendar uses the same logic as the Master Production Calendar for blackouts, meaning that Availability schedules, Availability Exceptions, and MRO jobs with an unavailability level all apply. The "Unavailability" pick list on the Calendar Selection pre-filter can be used to determine how downtime is displayed.
Once generated via the Calendar Selection pre-filter, the Planned On Hand Calendar form is displayed as a grid that lists sequences and their associated total hours needed, start and end dates and times, type (Sales Order or Job), order number, Part Number, Dock or Work Center, and total and remaining quantities. The grid will contain a record for every time slot in the date range, showing whether it is occupied or not. All transactions scheduled at midnight will be at the top. The goal of the report is to detect “out of order” situations, such as when a truck is scheduled to arrive an hour before the Job Routing is scheduled to be completed.
Scheduling options and considerations
- Only active Jobs are displayed on the calendar; Canceled Jobs and their Routings will not be displayed.
- Routings increment the on hand quantity at the end of the last Routing per Job line, not per Job in the Planned On Hand Calendar. This allows the on hand quantity to increase after all the Routings for a specific Job line are done.
- Routing schedule to start in non-blackout period - When a Routing is scheduled from the Planned On Hand Calendar, if the Routing is started in a non-blackout period, overlaps no other Routings, and ends on a non-maintenance blackout period, then it will be scheduled without splitting the Routing.
- Routing schedule to start in blackout period - When a Routing is scheduled from the Planned On Hand Calendar, if it starts on a blackout period or overlaps a maintenance Routing, a prompt will appear telling the user they cannot schedule a Routing in a blackout period.
- In Production Options:
- When the "Process Jobs Over Non-Maintenance Blackouts" flag is checked, the system allows Job Routings to run and finish, but not start, during a blackout period.
- When the "Order Date Change Prompt for Plan On Hand" flag is checked, updating the Routing Planned Start and Planned Finish dates will prompt the user asking if they want to update the Job's due date. If the Job is a Make to Order header or line Job, the system will update the due dates both for the Job and the Job lines.
